In 2013 Eglinton Presbyterian Church held its first Christmas Tree Festival. After four years we have decided to host another on the above dates.
The aim and object of the event is twofold:
-
Telling the story of the life of Jesus the “Light of the World” using Christmas trees.
-
Fundraising for our
-
Church Refurbishment Fund.
The other 50% of any donations received during the festival will be split equally between:
-
PIPS – ‘Public Initiative for Prevention of Suicide and Self Harm’ whose aim is to provide support to individuals who are considering, or who have at some point considered, ending their own lives. PIPS can also provide support for families who have been touched by suicide.
-
Mater Hospital Psychiatry Department.
(Entry will be free and will include light refreshments but there will be an opportunity for those who attend to make donations).
The Christmas Tree Festival presents an opportunity for businesses, voluntary organisations, community groups and our neighbouring churches to come together with groups and organisations associated with our own congregation in decorating trees telling the ‘Jesus story’.
We intend to advertise the event comprehensively in North Belfast and far beyond and will be expecting visitors from far and wide.
You may well have supported us at the last Festival. If so, thank you, but whether you did or not, we would like to invite you to participate in the festival this year and hope that you will want to join us in this venture.
As previously you can participate by decorating a tree or you may wish to sponsor a tree i.e paying £50.00 and the tree will be decorated on your behalf. (Please note we will provide the trees for you to purchase and/or decorate. Alternatively you may wish to make a donation towards the Festival costs or provide goods such as shortbread, mince pies, tea, coffee etc.
Should you wish to discuss any aspect of the Festival please contact either
